Endoscopy Workshop  

 

 

 

 

This introductory workshop has been running for over ten years, now partnering with Tecmed, the Red Cross Hospital Skills Lab team and the GSH Upper GI Surgery Unit and is aimed at the novice/beginner wanting to improve proficiency of scope handling and consumables before starting formal endoscopy training. It includes a morning of interactive lectures on anatomy, common pathology, cleaning of scopes, sedation, diathermy, practical tips when starting upper endoscopy, followed by an afternoon of practical experience including scope care, negotiating the porcine model, biopsy, foreign body retrieval, haemostatic clip application, variceal band ligation, injecting, snaring and hot polypectomy plus placement of a PEG. The course is accredited for 7 CPD points.
