Surgery Head at Red Cross War Memorial Children's Hospital Charles FM Saint Professor and Head of Paediatric Surgery at University of Cape Town South Africa from 31 January 2013. Now, with the recent developments and upgrades within the hospital it is seen as a resource centre for the training of African surgeons and nurses. A live digital broadcast to the hospital’s lecture theatre or Surgical Skills Training Centre seminar room gives delegates the opportunity to view the surgeries live and interact with surgeons operating during the training sessions. It was through Alp's vision and energy that the Surgical Skills Training Centre was established at Red Cross War Memorial Children's Hospital. The power of collective giving has touched the lives of many and will continue to do so by the people who had the opportunity to be trained at the Surgery Skills Training Centre and the Red Cross War Memorial Children's Hospital. He continues to be involved internationally in surgical training and innovations in training.
