BIOGRAPHY
Kerryn Mac Dermott graduated with an MSc in Clinical Anatomy from the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at Stellenbosch University. Kerryn also completed her BSc in Human Life Sciences and BSc Honours in Clinical Anatomy at Stellenbosch University. Her Honours thesis was a human dissection-based study investigating the anatomical features and dimensions of the iliocapsularis muscle in the hip joint. Her MSc research project expanded on the Honours thesis and aimed to examine the histochemical properties of the iliocapsularis muscle to assist in determining the implication of this muscle for hip function. During Kerryn’s postgraduate studies, she assisted with teaching human anatomy to the undergraduate anatomy, medical, and allied health sciences students. Additionally, she helped supervise postgraduate anatomy research projects. Kerryn was appointed as the Surgical Skills Training Centre's Co-ordinator in March 2023.
