GESEA National Suturing Championship – Cape Town 4 August 2017 – Pretoria 13 August 2017
Event Description
The 2nd South African National Suturing Championship will take place over 2 dates:
- Friday 4th August (17h00 to 19h00)at the Surgical Skills Training Centre, Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital, Cape Town
- Sunday 13th August (15h00 to 17h00) at the University of Pretoria new Surgical Skills Training Centre, Pretoria
The number of rounds at each centre will be determined by the number of candidates registering and you will be informed prior to the event.
Registrations are invited from all candidates who fulfill the following criteria set by +he European Society of Gynaecological Endoscopy:
- Under the age of 40 years old
- Have successfully completed CERT1 or CERT2 of the GESEA Programme.
The GESEA Faculty will assess the best result from the Cape Town and Pretoria days.
The winner will win a return air ticket to represent South Africa at the ESGE Winners World Suturing Championship that will take place on 18th October 2017 at the start of the ESGE Congress in Antalya, Turkey.
Last year, Dr Annelize Barnard from Tygerberg represented South Africa in Brussels and came 2nd!
